Presbytery of the Midwest 6th Annual Men’s Retreat
February 23 & 24, 2018
Green Lake Conference Center, Green Lake, WI
Come and join us for a challenging time in God’s Word, as well as, opportunities to fellowship with other brothers in Christ from around the Presbytery of the Midwest.
Our speaker this year will be the Rev. John Hartley who is the pastor of Apple Valley Presbyterian Church (OPC), in Neenah, WI for the past seven years. Before joining the OPC he was pastor of a Baptist congregation in Thetford, Vermont, where he served ten years. John has been married to Jen for 22 years and they have five children, four girls and a boy.
Rev. Hartley, will lead a study from Scripture on the biblical theme of divine chastisement. The aim is to help us think rightly about what is so often happening in our lives. He will speak on the necessity and way of humbly accepting the Lord’s discipline, plus the biblical fruit the Father seeks by chastening his sons. Pastor Hartley will also show how the Father’s chastening increases assurance we are children of God.
In addition to the talks, there will also be small group discussion times involving questions derived from the messages.
The retreat is open to all men 16 years and older. For consideration of boys younger than 16 years old or if you have questions about the retreat please contact Rick Laczny at 920-470-8382 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
