Dealing with a Hostile World

The rulers of Israel had at this time found itself ironically enough, in opposition to God. And as they opposed God and His Anointed, they also opposed the disciples of Jesus. The early church, faced now with persecution turned to the Lord in prayer, recognizing that the Lord is sovereign over all. They did not get angry or “cry foul” but instead sought the face of the Lord. And the prayer of the the disciples was not for an end for the difficulties but for boldness. Boldness to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.
